Ministries

our-story.jpg

In the Bengali language basha means ‘house’ and asha means ‘hope’. Basha is the house of hope we’re building in Bangladesh.  Basha provides a sustainable livelihood for women at risk and survivors of trafficking, providing a seamless transition for the women, with ongoing counselling, support, education, training and child-care services.
Women gain job skills and the opportunity to develop into leaders and entrepreneurs. At Basha, products are designed to tread lightly on the earth. Each piece is handmade using locally sourced materials including recycled saris, brass, copper and silver.

Chapel by the Sea partners with Basha through financial support, markets to sell their beautiful products and specialized expertise in support of the program in Bangladesh.

Warm & Dry

This long running program provides laundry services and warm clothing to those in need.  An average of 30 persons a month were served in 2019. We work with the owners of Posh Wash (Martin and Bernadette Sleap of Glasgow, Scotland) and use their laundry facility. Warm and Dry also partner with Homeless Solutions, Chance LC Resource Center and Beach Town Charities.

Young Life doesn’t start with a program. It starts with adults who are concerned enough about kids to go to them, on their turf and in their culture, building bridges of authentic friendship. These relationships don’t happen overnight — they take time, patience, trust and consistency.   The Young Life mission is – Introducing adolescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Chapel by the Sea actively supports Young Life Lincoln City hosting them in our space, providing meals and snacks, funds and through participation on the Board of Directors.

Head Start
of Lincoln City

Head Start supports children’s growth and development through Early Learning Education, Health, and Family Well Being. As our closest neighbor, we share a wonderful relationship and love the many activities that link Head Start and Chapel by the Sea; a Children’s Art Gallery, a reading program, Christmas gifts, serving on the community advisory board, and visiting with each other, as we share parking space.
